What to include
To help us diagnose a problem without accessing your records, include:
- Your Quarry app version, shown at the bottom of Settings.
- Your device model and iOS, iPadOS, or Android version.
- The action you were taking and any message shown on screen.
- A screenshot if it does not contain a private location, photo, or field note.
Features and menu names depend on your installed version. Newer builds use Full Backup ZIP, MET Norway forecasts, and Meteostat historical weather. Earlier iOS versions may show Complete Archive and use Open-Meteo.
Quick troubleshooting
Location
You can place every pin manually. Manage permission in iPhone/iPad Location Services or Android Settings → Apps → Quarry → Permissions.
Photos
Quarry uses the system photo picker. If an image will not import, confirm it is available on the device and try selecting it again.
Weather
Weather is optional. If MET Norway forecasts or Meteostat historical records are unavailable for your pin and date, enter conditions manually.
Exports
Open Settings to prepare a Full Backup ZIP or spreadsheet CSV. Choose where to save it. Import the ZIP to restore a journal; CSV alone cannot restore it.
Your local records
Quarry has no accounts and cannot remotely retrieve, restore, or delete your archive. Records and imported photos are stored in Quarry’s app container on your device. Before uninstalling Quarry, clearing storage, or moving devices, save a Full Backup ZIP outside the app. Import replaces the current journal after review and keeps a local previous-journal recovery copy.
